Set It Off makes it's second to last tour stop at The Rey Theatre in the hear of Los Angeles, to bring offer its fans the perfect mid-week break with their upbeat set! The color of the night was blue, from the microphone stands, to the countdown before the band set foot on stage. Before you know it, the timer strikes 00:00 and their set started off with “Lonely Dance.” Cody Carson’s smile beams as he takes on the stage. Most of their set was up-beat, except for one point during the night it gets emotional when he talks about a song that he wrote for his father who passed away with cancer. He plays the piano which was later joined by an acoustic guitar and drums, and at the very end, Cody plays the melody with his clarinet. In the middle of it, you can really feel his emotion and him getting teary.
Instead of crowd surfing, Cody gets on a large floatie and literally “floats” on top of the fans as he wrapped up the night with their last song “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing”.
Their set also included a drum solo by Max performing a mashup of songs. The solo started off with Kesha’s “Blow” which created an atmosphere as if we were at an EDM concert. Then it mixed to Shawn Mendes’ "If I can’t have you" - then to Jonas brother’s “Burning Up - then to Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” (of course, crowd knows the entire lyrics to the song), and 3OH!3 “Don’t trust me”. This interlude really hyped the crowd up. Literally ONE OF THE BEST DRUM SOLO EVER. So fun to watch. It wasn’t JUST a drum solo. It was entertaining because he was drumming to all the hits that everybody knew and the crowd got to sing along to it.
Encore - “I want this song to go to whoever needs it” “If you’ve ever felt so low, it’s because you’ve felt something incredible before. Keep pushing, don’t give up, do not stop” the song is called "You Are Loved"
