On the brisk Monday night of October 21st, Maisie Peters’s devoted LA fanbase made their way to West Hollywood’s Troubadour, packing the venue and kicking the week off with the British singer-songwriter's chill-vibed show.
Melodic harmonies, guitar riffs, and catchy chorus lines resonated through the Troubadour as the opening act, Jack Gray, set the stage. The Australian singer-songwriter performed an array of slow and upbeat songs, while engaging with the audience, sharing his experiences while on tour, and the backstory behind some of his personal favorite songs.
Jack’s mellow and atmospheric songs set the tune perfectly for the rest of the night, as the venue kept on filling-up and by 9pm the crowd excitedly waited for Maisie to take the stage.
With the stage going dark and the stage being flipped, the main act stepped on stage moments later to a crowd that welcomed her with a warm and cheerful greeting. Per Maisie, "Only in America" would she receive such a greeting. Jumping right into her set Maisie Peters started the night off with “Stay Young”.
Maisie’s show delivered the perfect balance between lyrics and ambiance. While her lyrics tend to revolve around break-up and past relationships, her contagious bubbly personality evokes anything but sadness. She asked the audience at one point “Who here is in love?”, claiming that the people who raised their hands claiming to be in happy relationships are a “brave bunch” for coming to one of her shows!
With it being her second to last show of her US tour date, Maisie expressed nothing but gratitude to her fans for coming out to see and support her.
Ending her set with her popular hit, “Worst Of You”, Maisie’s fans sang along with her to the highly catchy and relatable lyrics. After finishing off her last song, with camera at hand, Maisie proceeded to take a photo of the crowd before walking off the stage, leaving the crowd with the biggest smiles on their faces.
If anything was taken away from Monday night’s show was that there is an endless amount of talent in this true performer, and we can only hope to see more music from her in the near future.
P.S - Two thumbs up to Maisie for sporting a Jim Halpert shirt.
