Australian indie-pop band Glades joined FRENSHIP on their U.S trek and made their way over to their (spoiler alert) hometown-to-be to delight the LA crowd with their catchy tunes filled with synths, guitar riffs and Karina’s pitch-perfect vocals.
They opened their set with ‘Nervous Energy’, which is the first song on their debut album, To Love You. Immediately it’s hard not to fall in love with Karina’s voice. Every song is perfectly tailored to suit her pitch and is often accompanied by bandmate, Cameron Robertson on guitars and backup vocals. Joseph Wenceslao, usually on the right side of the stage can be found jamming on his synths with laser-focused concentration.
Their set included a large majority of songs from their debut album, including Not About You, 80 Miles, Neon Buzz, Sweetheart, Eyes Wide Shut, and the song that propelled their fame, Drive. Karina pointed out that their tour manager’s favorite song and on the must-perform list is ‘Porcelain’. Also included in their set was their collaboration with Feki, ‘Love You Better’.
What can you expect when you see Glades live? Solid vocals, catchy songs, some quirky and playful dance moves and a group of really good friends just having a good time on stage. Hopefully, they’ll be performing in the LA area soon and more often as they announced that they’re moving from Australia and calling Los Angeles home.
