DANIEL CAESAR SERENADES THE SHRINE WITH NEO-SOUL RNB
Daniel Caesar’s popularity in the contemporary RnB landscape warranted another Los Angeles show to be added on the 2019 tour for his album, Case Study 01. On the night of August 27th, music lovers filled the seats at The Shrine Auditorium eager to hear live renditions of songs from his sonically lush album. As the auditorium went dark, the acapella samples from “CYANIDE” rang emphatically throughout the theater. Caesar came out and revealed several other musicians that would assist him in producing an authentic, unique listening experience for all in attendance.
This opening track was met with resounding praise from the audience, and Caesar jumped straight into “Love Again.”
Daniel Caesar’s performance validated his tenure as a contemporary RnB heavy-hitter; delivering soulful, pensive lyricism that intertwined with his groovy, artsy instrumentals.
As the night went on, Daniel performed a number of fan favorites from his two most recent studio albums. Standout performances came on tracks like “Get You” and Caesar concluded the show with “Japanese Denim,” which had the audience singing in unison with Caesar’s serenading vocals.
Daniel Caesar’s emotionally captivating style continues to make waves in the RnB scene as he develops a distinct sound that allures diehard and casual fans alike.
