Up-and-coming hip-hop artist Phora has consistently delivered on his ability to construct meaningful raps layered upon meditative instrumentals. His performance at The Roxy on September 12th was a personal one, and Phora effortlessly composed a sense of connectedness with the crowd throughout the show. The Roxy served as Phora’s home venue for his 2019 seven stop tour, closest to his hometown of Anaheim.

Friday night in Downtown Los Angeles—El Rey Theatre to be exact, with a line forming outside of the venue hours prior to doors opening, the anticipation of this show is palpable. It has been a year since PVRIS toured. A year too long. With doors opening at 8pm on the dot, the loyal fan base shuffled through the entrance as people rushed to the front in order to get the best viewing spot in this sold out show.

Less than two weeks after announcing their support role on Andy Grammer’s Don’t Give Up On Me Tour, Nightly hits the stage at the Wiltern in LA. With the task of preparing the stage for Andy Grammer to follow, the band walked on the purple lit stage and settles into their position. The set began with “Talk To Me”, a track off of their first EP Honest.

Daniel Caesar’s popularity in the contemporary RnB landscape warranted another Los Angeles show to be added on the 2019 tour for his album, Case Study 01. On the night of August 27th, music lovers filled the seats at The Shrine Auditorium eager to hear live renditions of songs from his sonically lush album. As the auditorium went dark, the acapella samples from “CYANIDE” rang emphatically throughout the theater. Caesar came out and revealed several other musicians that would assist him in producing an authentic, unique listening experience for all in attendance.
