With hundreds of fans lining up since early hours of the afternoon, the line at the Fonda Theatre wrapped around Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood Boulevard in a highly anticipated show to wrap up the month of November. After a 21-date tour, Bea finally arrived in LA to deliver an intimate night of raw story-telling and pop tunes.
With two openers to kick-off Saturday nights show—there was no shortage of entertainment, with pop-singer Kennedi, and Nigerian singer-songwriter Kah-Lo delivering up-beat tunes that could only elevate the ambiance in the venue. Bea’s fans were more than ready to welcome her with open arms by the time the two opening acts culminated their sets.
In a late-night set, Bea Miller took the stage at 10:45pm and kicked off the night with “Song Like You”, showcasing her powerful vocals and raw energy right from minute-one. With this song as an indication of what the rest of the night would look like, LA was ready to buckle up and enjoy what the pop-singer had prepared.
During her hour and fifteen minute set, Bea performed some of her heavy-hitters such as "Outside", "it's not u it's me", "like that", "Dracula", "to the grave", among others.
Throughout the night Bea connected on a personal level with the audience, story-telling the meaning behind other songs performed, one of them being "feel something". She explained in an emotional speech that she wrote that song during a very weird time in her life—where instead of feeling extremely happy or sad, she didn't feel anything at all. According to Bea, not feeling anything was worse than feeling extremes, so she wrote this song in order to feel something and help someone else that may have been going through the same emotional state as her, feel something as well.
During another raw talk, Bea shared words of encouragement to women, in a passionate speech in which she shared a story of how she can go into an office full of business men and share her mind and the men won't blink twice. But if a man were to go into the meeting and say the exact same words that she had said, every single man in the room would think that was the best idea ever. She encouraged women to speak up because only like that will they be able to reach a point where they are seen as equal. That speech lead her into her newest single "THAT BITCH", in which she confessed that she was absolutely terrified of releasing the song, but at the end of the day she thought "men don't have to think twice about what to put out there", and she bit the bullet and released the bold song for the world to hear her message, loud and clear.
Story after story, Bea Miller's set was engaging, entertaining, full of passion and emotion. Bea showed her gratitude to her fans for showing up to her show, and making her dreams come true of performing at the Fonda Theatre—a venue she used to frequent in her growing years, and now had the privilege to perform at. She proceeded to close the night with her most popular hit, "I Wanna Know", as the venue floor shook with everybody jumping to the beat of the closing song.
Thank you Bea for putting on such a personal show. LA couldn't have asked for more.
