Los Angeles had the privilege of celebrating the night by watching an Alexander 23 show on the 23rd at the El Rey. On his tour for the latest released EP “Oh No, Not Again”, Alexander is joined by Max Leone who is known for his indie pop tunes.
When they uncovered the heart shaped neon sign with the number “23”, the crowd knew that it was only a matter of time until Alexander appeared on stage.
Surely enough, he appeared from the darkness with his guitar, starting off the set with “Cry Over Boys.” Despite it being a quieter track, the audience sang loudly with him, filling the entire venue with voices. He then continued the set with tracks from his previous releases including “Mars” and “20 Something.” Before performing “High School,” we witnessed how deeply fans love Alexander as one of them raised a poster that wrote “You made our high school memories better,” to which Alexander smiled and responded in gratitude. As we can tell from his music, Alexander’s genuine and relatable lyrics are one of the biggest reasons why the fans love him.
Throughout the night, the energy did not dissipate. In fact, the liveliness of the night continued on until the very last song of his encore as he performed “Dirty AF1s” while some of the fans waved their Air Force 1s in the air and swayed their bodies to the song. With his melodious voice and undeniable charismatic talent, Alexander surely put on a night of enjoyment. We hope to see him back in LA as he continues to pursue music.
